The Gorge Underground is a flooded abandoned limestone mine that has been turned into a kayaking, boating, and underground paddling adventure.  It's located in the Red River Gorge. They offer tours all the time, and even have a pontoon tour you can go on.  The haunted tour is on their pontoon, so no worries about potentially flipping your kayak.

This year for Halloween they're really getting into the spooky spirit with haunted Halloween tours!

What is scarier than an abandoned mine that is filling with water? An abandoned mine in the pitch black darkness of night. Come enjoy hearing about the history of paranormal activity in our mine. You will be introduced to all of our resident ghouls and ghosts. Try hard not to scream or you might awaken what lies deep within the darkness. The tours just get scarier as the night goes on so if you are easily scared, book an early tour. If you are brave, book the last tour of the night.

The tours take place every weekend in October and are $59.  The tours will last about 1 hour. If you're interested in booking a tour you can click here to see The Gorge Underground's website.  The Gorge Underground is located in Pine Ridge, Kentucky, and is about 3 and a half hours from the Tri-State.  So it's the perfect distance for a weekend trip, but short enough you could do it in a day.
